Lake County has installed an
emergency alert system to alert citizens of possible dangers
such as chemical emergencies, natural and man-made
disasters, and national security issues.
When you hear the Emergency Siren follow these directions
calmly-but immediately:
-
Go indoors, close all doors and windows.
-
Tune to local emergency information stations.
Follow broadcast information.
-
DO NOT call 911. Such calls could hinder
response activities.
-
Stay tuned to your radio or TV for further
information.

Important
Reminders
-
If you hear the
Emergency Sirens, tune to local radio and TV for
current information.
-
Do what the police and fire crews tell you to do.
Move quickly but carefully.
-
Don't "sight see"....stay away from all kinds of
smoke and fire.
-
Don't tie up telephones (including cell phones).
-
Plan ahead for emergencies. Keep telephone
numbers and a list of medications nearby.
