Lake County Emergency Management Agency, through the Office of Homeland Security, has purchased a system to help our citizens during times of emergency. This system is known as Reverse 911 and has the capability of reaching the citizens with an important emergency information message along with instructions on what to do during this emergency. There has been specific criteria designated for the use of this Reverse 911 System. The criteria could be any one of the following: Conditions exist where affected residents could be or have the potential to be in immediate danger, there's a potential for serious risk to life and property, notification could aid in the apprehension of a criminal suspect, notification could aid in the safe return of a lost child, notification could aid in the safe return of a mentally, physically or emotionally challenged individual or an elderly patient (walk away from a nursing facility). All you have to do is answer your land line telephone. All residents of the county with a published telephone number are already listed in our Reverse 911 system. However, anyone that has an un-listed phone number needs to fill out the form on this web site and just hit submit, or fill out the information on the form, print it and mail it to Lake County Emergency Management Agency, 8505 Garfield Road, Mentor, Ohio 44060. All information sent to us either via email or regular mail is confidential, and will not be shared with any one else. It is important that this information is shared with us, so that we may keep you safe in times of emergency. |
